CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is the long-term shift in global weather patterns that is caused by increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Climate change is having a significant impact on the planet, including rising sea levels, more extreme weather events, ocean acidification, melting polar ice caps, flooding, intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, global conflict, pest outbreaks, major crop loss, and the spread of disease. Climate change has already had a dramatic impact on ecosystems, human health, and economic development, and is predicted to have even more severe impacts in the years to come.
